RAISING THE GAME

A NEW ERA FOR SQUASH IN AUSTRALIA

RAISING THE GAME

• Squash holds a unique place in the Australian Sporting Landscape.

• Squash in Australia is changing as we meet the challenges ahead and take advantage of the opportunities the next 10+ years provide us.

• We must continue to be financially sustainable into the future.

• We are committed to directly investing in the game at all levels.

• We want to continue to expand our footprint into new markets and reengage with those who have been a part of our community in the past.

• We are transforming our game for future generations.

Squash in Australia is changing …

• Squash Australia in consultation with State & Territory Associations, has developed a new membership model to be introduced from Monday 3rd July 2023.

• The membership model establishes uniform criteria that apply in relation to the registration of clubs and individual participants in the Sport.

• Squash is moving to individual participant registration and online payment in line with the way other major sports in Australia operate.

• This provides a sustainable, simpler and fairer way to distribute the costs across our game.

• From 3rd July 2023, everyone involved in our game will pay a State and National Membership Fee.

• Importantly, all money collected through the Membership model will go to Squash Australia and your State &Territory Association to help administer and service our game at all levels.

• The Membership model also includes your insurance fee that will go to the Insurer for your insurance cover.

• Club Membership and competition fees will continue to be collected directly by your local Squash club.

PLAYER SAFETY IS A PRIORITY

• Squash Australia has a national insurance plan to protect players in the case of injury.

• You will be provided with Personal Accident cover if you’re injured playing Squash:

• Payment of 100% of Non-Medicare Medical Expenses (to a maximum amount),

• Weekly benefits for loss of income (limitations and exceptions apply), and

• Lump sum benefits for serious injury.

• More information is available at https://vinsurancegroup.com/squashaustralia/

• Your club is also covered for public/product liability insurance, your coaches, officials and volunteers for professional indemnity insurance, and your committee members are covered for club management liability.

WE Are investing in new technology

• Squash Australia has joined forces with revolutioniseSPORT to develop the MySquashAus platform, making the sport easier to manage for everyone - from individual members right up to overall management of the biggest squash clubs in the country.

• The MySquashAus platform brings together everything from player registration to competition management and club administration.

• From 3rd July 2023, all clubs and participants must be registered through the MySquashAus platform.

• We have also teamed up with the world's most advanced squash rating system, SquashLevels, to provide a more streamlined and accurate rating and rankings process.

• The Squash Australia Learning Centre is delivered through the Australian Sport Learning Centre (ASLC), a collaboration between the Australian Sports Commission and the sport sector that aims to facilitate a seamless learning experience for the sport community.

• The new online learning and development platform is a one-stop-shop for the squash community and is already revolutionising the way coaches, referees, volunteers and staff learn, achieve and keep track of accreditations online.
