Australian wrestlers Jayden Lawrence and Georgii Okorokov have excelled to qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympics and need your help to make their dreams of competing at the Olympics a reality.

Both Jayden and Georgii are among the world’s top 16 wrestlers in their weight categories, dedicating their lives to compete for Australia on the international stage and in doing so have recorded impressive wins to set themselves up for Paris.

By finishing top-two at the Paris 2024 Africa & Oceania Olympic Qualification event in March, the International Olympic Committee has allocated spots for Jayden and Georgii to participate in the Paris 2024 competition. For Jayden and Georgii to best prepare and travel for the Olympics as part of the Australian Olympic Team, they will need to be funded by donations.

Australian Wrestling does not receive high-performance funding, making it near impossible to fund athletes in their training and competition without external support from donations and sponsors.

The two athletes will spend time overseas training and competing in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Albania, Armenia and Spain to ensure they are best placed to achieve medal success in Paris. Jayden and Georgii will be supported in their preparations by National Performance Lead, Andrey Vorontsov, during this three-month training block.

If you want to support these men to pursue their dreams, the first Australian wrestling athletes to qualify for the Olympics since Rio 2016, your donation will go a long way to support their push to secure Olympic medals for our country.

Pre-set donation amounts are listed, but custom donation amounts can also be entered. Donations of over $2 ASF are also tax deductable, and a receipt for this is provided once the payment is processed.

We encourage you to please share this fundraising initiative among your local members, clubs, and the broader community to try and gain as much support as possible in assisting our athletes.

Wrestling is one of the most historically significant sports in the world, with it having been held at every Summer Olympics since the first modern Olympics were held in Athens 1896.

About Jayden Lawrence

Fourteen years ago Jayden represented Australia at the 2010 Youth Olympics, finishing 5th, and has made three appearances at the Commonwealth Games in 2014, 2018 and won bronze at the 2022 Games in Birmingham with a torn lateral collateral ligament, the first Australian men’s wrestling Commonwealth Games medal since 2010. He has never competed an Olympic Games.

Jayden is a wrestling instructor at Camden Valley Wrestling in Smeaton Grange in Sydney’s southwest, a qualified cabinetmaker and a father to a young son.

About Georgii Okorokov

Georgii went undefeated at the Paris 2024 Africa & Oceania Olympic Qualification event in March and won all three matches without conceding a point. In doing so he defeated the 2023 and 2024 African Games champions.

He’s also the back-to-back Oceania champion (2023-24), where he’s scored a combined 70 points and conceded just seven points. He finished top-10 at the 2023 World Championships.
